COMPANY HISTORY

Founded in 1953, the E. J. Del Monte Corporation has grown to become one of Rochester, New York's leading companies.  Ernest J. Del Monte, CEO, is well known for his creation and development of patented equipment used in the production of pre-cast concrete rooms for a variety of building applications.  From it's beginning as a manufacturer of generators for military aircraft and guided missiles, the E. J. Del Monte Corporation has used it's manufacturing expertise to pioneer the development of a building system incorporating precision monolithic concrete room castings.  This is the basis for the Delcrete Building System, which has been used to build hotels, apartments, hospitals, extended care and correctional facilities throughout the United States, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.  Through the Delcrete Building System, a five-sided monolithic concrete room is produced that is complete with total mechanical and interior finishes.  The end result is 8 inches of solid concrete walls that are structurally soundproof and fireproof, and can withstand an earthquake of seismic zone 4 (similar to those experienced in San Francisco).

The E.J. Del Monte Corporation entered hotel management and operation with the opening of the 304 room Rochester Marriott Thruway Hotel in 1974 (now known as the RIT Inn and Conference Center, located in Rochester).  The E. J. Del Monte Corporation has added 17 Marriott hotels to its portfolio to include Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn brands.  The hotels are located throughout New York State and future endeavors include other areas throughout the Northeast.  The E.J. Del Monte Corporation was awarded the prestigious Partnership Circle Award from Marriott International in 1998 and 2000, which is presented to the leading Marriott franchisee in the country.  The award is based on innovation, maintaining outstanding guest satisfaction scores in all of the hotels the Franchise operates, consistent performance , and service excellence.  The E.J. Del Monte Corporation Hotels continue to receive high honors from Marriott International year after year.  The Del Monte Lodge, A Renaissance Hotel, marked the E. J. Del Monte Corporation's first independent luxury hotel and future expansions are expected.
