ROCHESTER MARRIOTT AIRPORT HOTEL
COMPLETES $12 MILLION RENOVATION
ROCHESTER, N.Y.- After more
than a year of work, renovations to the Rochester Marriott Airport hotel have
now been completed. The $12 million
project has enhanced the hotels interior and exterior and upgraded it’s quality
of service to guests. The 210-room hotel
is owned and operated by the E.J. Del Monte Corporation, a Rochester-based
Marriott franchise with a portfolio of 17 Marriott properties throughout New
York State.
The
finished work has resulted in a new and larger lobby and guests will find to
their convenience an in-house market open 24 hours, a new 900 square-foot
fitness facility and a complimentary business center with computers, printers
and fax machines. The ballroom was also renovated and now boasts vaulted
ceilings, cascades of warm colors and a vivid chandelier.
What
do the new guest rooms look like?
·
Marriott’s Revive® bedding, with soft,
cotton-rich linens, clouds of pillows, and a new, modern white look. Down comforters in custom fitted duvets have
replaced the traditional bedspreads.
·
A large, well-lit desk in each guest room provides a
comfortable yet functional workspace co-existing with a 27 inch flat screen
television.
·
Granite countertops and roomier showers in each
contemporary bathroom.
·
Individual climate control in all guest rooms.
·
Concierge level offers savvy enhancements such as ipod
docking stations that double as radio and audio players, 32 inch plasma
televisions, plush robes and complimentary bottled water and miniature
refrigerator.
Work has
gone beyond what guests can see. The
“skeleton” of the hotel also needed restructuring. This included electric, sprinkler and alarm
systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, elevators and dry wall. Alterations to the exterior of the hotel
consisted of covering the entire structure with EFIS, a stucco-like substance
and a more permanent alternative to paint.
New windows, molding and signage were added and so were state-of-the-art
landscaping and security lighting to frame the building.
The project
on the seven-story building began in November 2005. The hotel was constructed in 1979.
Founded in
1953, the E.J. Del Monte Corporation entered hotel construction and operation
in 1974. Since that time, the E.J. Del Monte Corporation has added 17 Marriott
hotels to its portfolio to include Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard by
Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Fairfield Inn by Marriott brands. Ernest
J. Del Monte serves as Chairman of the Board and John Del Monte is president of
the E.J. Del Monte Corporation which owns and operates 9 Marriott hotels in the
Rochester area, in addition to the Spa at the Del Monte in Pittsford. With its
headquarters in Rochester, NY, the E.J. Del Monte Corporation employs over 800.
