E.J. Del Monte Corporation Introduces Green Meetings
Rochester, NY – The E. J. Del Monte Corporation is announcing a new service to those interested in hosting green meetings at two of the Marriott hotels in Rochester.
Event planners at the Rochester Marriott Airport in Greece and The Del Monte Lodge in Pittsford have received green meeting certification by Marriott International. In doing so, the hotels now offer ‘green’ products and services such as recycled note pads and pens, fluorescent lighting, e-proposals and menus, paperless billing, recycling bins in pre-function areas and water service instead of bottled water. Both hotels report that requests for green meetings have become more frequent.
Certified planners at the Rochester Marriott Airport are Rene Madara, director of events, and Heather Nolan and Maureen Malec, sales and event managers. At The Del Monte Lodge, Sarah Kurimsky, director of events, and sales managers Lindsay Hargraves and Pam Jaffarian have also been certified. These employees were trained on green standards in operations and Marriott’s eco friendly vendors and partners.
Founded in 1953, the E.J. Del Monte Corporation entered hotel construction and operation in 1974. Since that time, the E.J. Del Monte Corporation has added 17 Marriott hotels to its portfolio to include Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Fairfield Inn by Marriott brands. Ernest J. Del Monte serves as Chairman of the Board and John Del Monte is president of the E.J. Del Monte Corporation which owns and operates 9 Marriott hotels in the Rochester area, in addition to the Spa at the Del Monte in Pittsford. With its headquarters in Rochester, NY, the E.J.
